Insurance & Payments
-
The cost per session can vary a lot, depending on things like insurance or the services you need.
If you don't have insurance — or prefer not to use it? We offer a self-pay discount. Get started for as little as $50 per session for those who qualify.
No obligation
All information is kept strictly confidential
A team member will follow up with your personalized rate before your first appointment
If you plan to use your insurance what you pay out of pocket depends entirely on your specific plan. Your costs may be affected by:
Your deductible and whether it has been met
Your copay or coinsurance amount
Whether you've reached your annual out-of-pocket maximum
To find out exactly what you'll owe per session, complete an intake form and a team member will attempt to verify your benefits before your first appointment.
We also have an insurance verification form that walks you through a quick call with your insurance company so you know exactly what to expect before your first session.
Your insurance plan determines what you owe. We are not your insurance provider and cannot guarantee coverage amounts on their behalf.
Under the No Surprises Act, uninsured and self-pay patients have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before treatment begins. Learn more.

Payment is due at the time of service. Any outstanding balances must be paid before scheduling future appointments.
-
We do not offer general payment plans. All sessions are paid at the time of service.
The only exception is for balances over $500 resulting from unexpected insurance claim denials. In those cases, clients may request a temporary 2-month or 4-month payment schedule. Payment plans are not automatically applied — you must contact us to ask. A valid card on file is required, and new sessions must continue to be paid at time of service.
If you have questions about your coverage, please verify your benefits directly with your insurance provider before booking.
-
If your payment method is declined, we will attempt to process the balance up to three consecutive times. If payment is still unsuccessful, you will receive a notification through the client portal.
We understand that financial situations can change, and we encourage you to reach out before your balance becomes overdue. If we do not hear from you and your balance remains unpaid for 30 days, your account may be referred to collections. At that point, you will be unable to schedule sessions in the app and need to contact our office.
-
All sessions are confidential and protected under HIPAA. There are limited exceptions required by law — such as mandatory reporting obligations and court orders — which are outlined in full in our Notice of Privacy Practices, provided at intake.
If you use insurance, your provider will receive basic billing information such as dates of service and diagnosis codes to process claims. If you prefer that no information be shared with your insurer, you may choose self-pay when registering.
Using a parent's or spouse's insurance? They may have access to Explanation of Benefits (EOB) details including provider name and service type. If privacy is a concern, consider paying out-of-pocket or contacting your insurer about EOB settings.
-
We make every effort to verify your insurance coverage before your first session. However, we strongly encourage you to check with your insurance provider directly.
If your insurance denies coverage, does not pay, or applies the cost to a high deductible, you are responsible for the full session fee based on what your insurance instructs us to charge. We will notify you of any coverage issues as soon as possible.
-
Yes, we can provide a Superbill if your insurance offers out-of-network reimbursement. However, please note:
We do not file Superbills on your behalf—you will need to submit them directly to your insurance.
Payment for all sessions is due in full at the time of service, regardless of reimbursement.
It is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider about their out-of-network policies before booking sessions.
-
We do not accept secondary insurance for billing purposes. However, we can provide the necessary documentation for you to submit claims to your secondary insurance on your own. If you have questions about coverage, we recommend checking directly with your insurance provider.
Scheduling & Policies
-
We require at least a 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment. If you miss this window you will be charged according to the schedule below.
To cancel, call (501) 200-1119 and follow the prompts. Please do not email, message, or text — we may not receive it in time and your cancellation may not be processed before the window closes resulting in a fee.
Late cancellations and no-shows are treated the same and follow this fee schedule:
1st occurrence — No charge, one-time courtesy
2nd occurrence — $30
3rd occurrence — $60
4th and beyond — $120 each
These fees are not covered by insurance and will be charged to the card on file.
Every appointment we schedule is held exclusively for you — which means it's unavailable to anyone else. When that time goes unfilled without enough notice, a client who needed that spot goes without care. This policy exists to protect everyone's access to care, including yours.
If you decide to stop services, please let us know so we can close your account properly. If an appointment remains on the schedule and we are not notified, the applicable fee will still apply.

What happens if there’s bad weather?
If winter weather, ice, or other hazardous conditions make travel unsafe, Your Choice Mental Health Therapy, PLLC will review local conditions and decide whether to close the office or move sessions online. If travel is deemed unsafe or office operations are affected, our physical office will close, and all scheduled in-person appointments will be moved to virtual sessions where possible.
You’ll be notified through the client portal, by text message, or by email if there are any changes to your appointment.
If we remain open but you’re uncomfortable driving due to weather, please contact us before your session to discuss switching to virtual or rescheduling. If the office is open and road conditions are deemed safe, our standard cancellation policy and fees will apply.
If your appointment is moved to virtual and you’re unable to attend due to power or internet outages, privacy concerns, or insurance limitations, we’ll help you reschedule without a fee in some cases. However, if your session was already scheduled as virtual and you miss it, the standard missed-session fee will apply.
In general, we encourage all clients to use good judgment during severe weather. If conditions seem unsafe in your area, contact us as soon as possible rather than risk traveling.

Treatment & Expectations
-
Absolutely, therapy can be incredibly beneficial.
Counseling offers you a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself, without any pressure to conform or follow a specific path. While therapy may require some effort and might occasionally lead to discomfort, it's important to remember that the majority of individuals who engage in counseling leave with a profound sense of fulfillment and believe that the time and energy they invest in it are highly rewarding.
-
Yes — and it is central to who we are.
Your Choice Mental Health Therapy is a queer-owned and operated practice. LGBTQ+ affirming care is not an add-on service here, it is the foundation of how we work. You do not need to explain yourself, educate your therapist, or brace for judgment. Our providers understand the unique stressors that come with navigating identity, relationships, family, community, and a world that is not always safe or accepting.
We welcome and actively serve individuals across the full spectrum of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression — including those exploring identity, navigating transition, or simply looking for a space where they can show up as their whole self.
If you have specific questions about a provider's experience or approach, we encourage you to ask during your free 15-minute consultation.
-
The answer is that the length of treatment takes depends on the person; as we know, every person is different.
Therapy can last anywhere from a couple of months to several years. People are often looking for different things from therapy.
After we have met, we can give you a more solid answer on what counseling can offer you.
Ultimately, attending therapy consistently will help you overcome obstacles.
-
We use evidence-based approaches to best support your mental health needs. Our therapists are trained in:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helps identify and change negative thought patterns.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – Focuses on emotional regulation and mindfulness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Encourages acceptance of emotions while working toward personal goals.
Best Practice Therapy Approaches – We tailor treatment based on your unique needs.
And so much more!
If you're unsure which therapy style is right for you, our providers will discuss options during your initial sessions.
-
We offer both virtual and in-person therapy to accommodate your needs. However, all initial consultations are conducted virtually to ensure a good fit before committing to ongoing sessions. After the consultation, you can choose virtual or in-person sessions based on availability.

Yes. We offer telehealth sessions and in person sessions. We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform for clients located anywhere in Arkansas. Some of our providers are also authorized to see clients in states participating in PSYPACT, a compact that allows licensed psychologists to practice across state lines.
