A place where every
identity is celebrated.
LGBTQ+ affirming group therapy for adults in Central Arkansas — a confidential space to share, heal, and connect with others who truly get it.
About This Group
Our LGBTQ+ Support Group exists because community is healing. In a world that can often feel unwelcoming, we're building a space where every person — every identity, every story — is not just accepted but genuinely valued.
Facilitated by Dr. Jordan Williams, the group meets weekly in Little Rock for open discussion, coping skills work, and real human connection. We keep groups intentionally small (6–10 members) so that trust can build and every voice has room to be heard.
The group will launch for 2026–2027 once we have enough registered interest. Fill out our short form and we'll reach out with scheduling details the moment we're ready.

What We Explore
Real conversations.
Guided with care.
Every session is shaped by the group — here are the kinds of things we make space for. Topics are explored at a pace that feels safe and supportive for everyone in the room.
Coming out experiences
Processing the timeline of your own disclosure — whether recent, ongoing, or years in the past — and the emotions each layer carries.
Gender & sexual identity
Exploring, naming, and sitting with fluid or evolving identity — without pressure to land anywhere definitive.
Internalized shame & self-worth
Unpacking the messages we absorbed growing up and building a more honest, compassionate relationship with ourselves.
Navigating multiple identities
Being LGBTQ+ alongside race, religion, culture, and disability — and how those intersect in daily life.
Family dynamics
Navigating acceptance, rejection, or complicated in-betweens with family — and finding ways to hold those relationships in a healthy way.
Romantic & intimate relationships
Communication, trust, boundaries, and vulnerability in LGBTQ+ relationships — including dynamics mainstream advice often misses.
Friendships & chosen family
Building, maintaining, and sometimes grieving the found-family connections that become lifelines for many in the LGBTQ+ community.
Workplace & professional life
Being out (or not) at work, handling microaggressions, and managing the energy cost of professional code-switching.
Depression & anxiety
Understanding how minority stress, discrimination, and social isolation fuel anxiety and depression — and what actually helps.
Burnout & emotional exhaustion
Recognizing when the labor of existing as a marginalized person has depleted you — and rebuilding capacity without bypassing the real causes.
Trauma & PTSD
Processing experiences of rejection, abuse, or violence in a safe group setting — at whatever pace feels right for you.
Self-compassion & resilience
Moving from self-criticism to genuine self-kindness — and understanding how resilience is built, not inherited.
Navigating the current climate
Processing the emotional weight of political and legislative changes affecting LGBTQ+ lives — without spiraling into helplessness.
Safety & belonging in Arkansas
Honestly addressing what it means to live as an LGBTQ+ person in the South — and finding real community despite those challenges.
Grief & loss
Mourning relationships, identity stages, or community members — held in a space that truly understands that kind of grief.
Joy, pride & celebration
This group isn't only for hard things. Making space for pride, milestones, and genuine celebration is just as important.
Skills You'll Build
Evidence-based tools
you can actually use.
Dr. Williams weaves practical coping skills throughout each session — grounded in DBT, CBT, and mindfulness, and adapted for LGBTQ+ experiences.
01
Distress Tolerance
Riding out overwhelming emotions without making things worse — especially useful in high-stress social or political moments.
DBT02
Emotion Regulation
Identifying what you're feeling, understanding what triggers it, and changing responses when they aren't serving you.
DBT03
Mindfulness Practice
Grounding in the present moment — learning to observe thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them.
Mindfulness04
Challenging Negative Thoughts
Recognizing cognitive distortions rooted in internalized stigma and replacing them with more accurate, compassionate thinking.
CBT05
Setting Healthy Boundaries
Learning when and how to say no, protect your energy, and communicate needs — in family, romantic, and professional contexts.
Communication06
Interpersonal Effectiveness
Navigating difficult conversations — including coming out talks, conflict, and advocating for yourself without damaging relationships.
DBT07
Somatic Awareness
Tuning into how stress and anxiety feel in your body — using physical cues as early warning signs before emotions escalate.
Somatic08
Radical Acceptance
Accepting reality as it is to reduce suffering caused by fighting what can't be changed — while still working for change.
DBT09
Self-Compassion Practices
Moving from self-criticism to a kinder inner voice — treating yourself with the same care you'd offer a close friend.
Mindfulness"This group is more than a meeting — it's a community where every member is valued, every story is honored, and every person leaves with tools to navigate life more confidently and authentically."
Common Questions
Things people ask
before joining.
To protect everyone's safety and comfort, audio recording, video recording, and photography are strictly prohibited during group sessions. Phones must be silenced and left outside the meeting room. This isn't about distrust — it's about creating a space where people can speak freely, without any concern that their words or image will end up somewhere else.
If a participant violates this policy, they will be asked to leave the session immediately and will not be permitted to return to the group. We believe everyone in the room deserves to feel safe, and protecting that environment is non-negotiable.
